Vegetable carbon black is an insoluble colorant.

Vegetable carbon black is an insoluble colorant and is therefore typically used in suspension form. It is primarily employed in confectionery, often as a masking agent. Synonyms: vegetable black, vegetable charcoal, carbon black, food-grade carbon black, natural melanin. Physical properties: black, fine particulate powder; odorless and tasteless; insoluble in water and organic solvents. Production method: obtained by carbonizing plant stems and husks. Applications: baked goods; grain and cereal products; dairy products; sugars and candied foods; confectionery; decorative and coating applications; ice cream.

Notice on the Convening of the Kick-off Meeting and Symposium for the Cosmetic Industry Standard “Carbon Powder as an Ingredient in Cosmetics”

In accordance with the relevant provisions of Document No. 31 [2018] issued by the Science and Technology Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, “Notice on Issuing the Plan for the Second Batch of Industry Standard Formulation/Revision and Foreign-Language Version Projects in 2018,” the cosmetic industry standard “Carbon Powder for Use in Cosmetics,” drafted under the leadership of Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has been officially approved for development. To enhance the quality of standard‑setting work and in line with the scheduled timeline, the Secretariat of the Cosmetic Standards Sub‑Committee has decided to convene a kickoff meeting and the first technical workshop. Meeting date: October 12, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. Venue: Conference Room, Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Details regarding the agenda and the list of participating organizations will be communicated separately.
