The “2024 China Baking Sugar Association National Cookie and Puffed Food Industry Annual Conference and Summit Forum” was held from August 26 to 28, 2024, in Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province. The event was organized by the Cookie and Puffed Food Professional Committee of the China Baking Sugar Association, hosted by Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and co‑sponsored by the Jiangshan Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, the Jiangshan Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the Jiangshan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Jiangshan Municipal Chinese Herbal Medicine Industry Association.

Zhang Jiu-kui, Chairman of the China Baking Sugar Association; Zhu Nian-lin, Executive Chairman; Yang Mu-mei, Vice Chairwoman; Zhang Bin and Yu Jiayi, Deputy Secretaries-General; Chen Xiang and Li Ruiguang, Secretaries-General of the Professional Committees; together with representatives from over 50 organizations—including biscuit and puffed‑food manufacturers, upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain, research institutes, and media—attended the meeting by invitation.

Vice Mayor Su Qinghua delivered a welcoming address, expressing gratitude to the association for convening this forum to discuss the integrated development of the “medicine‑food homology” health industry and the biscuit‑puffed‑food sector, thereby establishing a professional, cutting‑edge platform for exchange and collaboration in the pursuit of high‑quality growth within the food industry. He also extended his hope that experts and entrepreneurs will continue to lend their support to Jiangshan’s development, warmly inviting them to visit Jiangshan often, offer their insights, and further advance innovation and progress in the field of health foods.

As the host of this conference, Chairwoman Wang Fang stated that organizing this annual meeting marks a significant milestone in the development of “Wanglin,” and represents an important initiative to strengthen industry-wide communication and advance sector growth. She expressed her sincere gratitude to all attendees for joining us today to offer their insights and guidance. Thank you! Furthermore, she hopes that this event will foster greater collaboration, drive innovation, and facilitate discussions on the current state and future prospects of the industry, thereby contributing both the collective strength of the China Baking Sugar Association and the unique expertise of “Wanglin” to the continued progress of the biscuit and puffed‑food sectors.

The agenda for this conference was both comprehensive and tightly packed, featuring presentations by Lou Feng, Director of the Big Data Modeling Laboratory at the Institute of Quantitative and Technological Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a doctoral supervisor, on “Analysis of China’s Macroeconomic Landscape and Policy Simulation in 2024”; Lai Xiangmin, General Manager of the Ecology Division at Shanghai Duoke Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., on “Baking with Intelligent Transformation: Strategies for Optimizing Performance Through Digital Transformation”; Zhao Lei, an expert in the biscuit and puffed‑food sector on the JD.com platform, on “Online Business Development and Product Trend Analysis in the Biscuit and Puffed‑Food Industries”; Professor Zhang Yanling of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, on “A Preliminary Discussion on Formulation Design for Food‑Medicine Homology Products”; and Wang Haiping, Section Chief and Senior Engineer at the Nanjing Municipal Institute for Food and Drug Supervision and Testing, on “An Analysis of Recent Issues Identified in Biscuit Inspection and Sampling, Along with Related Discussions.” The topics covered everything from macro‑policy analysis and practical solutions to industry‑wide challenges to innovative applications of products. Through these insightful presentations, member companies gained a deeper understanding of future development prospects.

Finally, Zhang Jiu-kui, Chairman of the China Puffed Food Association, delivered a concluding address. He noted that, after years of development, China’s puffed food industry has made significant strides. The Association will, as always, serve as a vital bridge between the government and enterprises, helping businesses address practical challenges. Chairman Zhang expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to the industry’s growth and to the Association’s work over the years, and he urged continued attention and support to foster the sector’s sound and sustainable development.

On August 28, in accordance with the conference agenda, delegates visited and inspected Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.’s new facility, including its 100,000‑class cleanroom and R&D testing center. Following the tour, Chairwoman Wang Fang engaged in in-depth discussions with the attending representatives, exchanging insights on industry‑wide issues and best practices.
