Plant-derived carbon black approved as a new feed additive.

On April 15, 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China published Announcement No. 258 of 2020 on its official website, officially approving plant carbon black as a new feed additive and issuing the corresponding certificate for the new product. The relevant product standard, along with the product instructions and label, were also released. These documents shall take effect from the date of their publication.

Following on-site review by the Jiangshan City COVID‑19 Prevention and Control Command, Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and seven other enterprises were approved to be among the first batch to resume work and production on February 10, 2020.

Zhejiang Wanglin Bio’s application to expand the scope of its plant-derived carbon black certification to include soy products, nuts, and roasted snacks has officially been approved by the National Health Commission.

On December 13, 2019, Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. submitted an application—first filed in November 2018—to expand the permitted uses of plant-derived carbon black to include “soy products” and “fried snacks and nuts.”
