The National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment is soliciting public opinions and feedback on expanding the scope of use for vegetable carbon black.

Zhejiang Wanglin Bio has submitted an application to the National Center for Food Safety Assessment to expand the scope of use for vegetable carbon black. On January 8, 2019, the application passed the review by the relevant experts and entered the public notice period, during which opinions and feedback are being solicited from the general public.

The “Zhejiang Manufacturing” standard for “Food Additive Vegetable Carbon Black” has been released and will come into effect on December 31, 2018.

In accordance with the “Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development and Implementation of ‘Made in Zhejiang’ Standards” (Zhezhibiao Fa [2015] No. 144), the standard “Food Additive: Vegetable Carbon Black,” primarily drafted by Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has been approved by our association as a “Made in Zhejiang” standard, designated as T/ZZB 0829-2018, and shall enter into force as of December 31, 2018.

In the golden autumn month of October, in accordance with the relevant meeting notice, the launch and symposium for the cosmetic industry standard “Carbon Powder for Use in Cosmetics” were held as scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on October 12, 2018, at Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Notice on the Convening of the Kick-off Meeting and Symposium for the Cosmetic Industry Standard “Carbon Powder as an Ingredient in Cosmetics”

In accordance with the relevant provisions of Document No. 31 [2018] issued by the Science and Technology Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, “Notice on Issuing the Plan for the Second Batch of Industry Standard Formulation/Revision and Foreign-Language Version Projects in 2018,” the cosmetic industry standard “Carbon Powder for Use in Cosmetics,” drafted under the leadership of Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has been officially approved for development. To enhance the quality of standard‑setting work and in line with the scheduled timeline, the Secretariat of the Cosmetic Standards Sub‑Committee has decided to convene a kickoff meeting and the first technical workshop. Meeting date: October 12, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. Venue: Conference Room, Zhejiang Wanglin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Details regarding the agenda and the list of participating organizations will be communicated separately.
